Our tour guide just happened to be Mormon. Since he worked for a company he couldn't talk about the church. We met another guy there that did Mormon tours. He was a stake president in the area. He spent a few minutes talking to us. He told us about where they found the tree of life tablet, possible areas where Lehi and his family came to. He also told us some amazing things about Tulum. I wish I would have written more down. It was a nice HOT day.
I LOVE the water in this area. It is so beautiful.
We met a girl who was traveling the world. She had a friend for the first few months but then went on her own. She was ending her journey in the next month. She had been gone 6 months. She had been EVERYWHERE. She said she used a website couch surfer. On this sight you can find people to stay with on your travels. Some are free or low cost. You are able to really learn the culture and meet new people this way. Such a fun adventure for her! A little crazy to do it alone though..
