I am getting Braver.

For those of you who know all of my weird issues know that I am afraid to stay along at night. Well, you should all be proud of me, I stayed alone a few nights this week while Dave sold in a different city. I did pretty good and survived!!! I did not like it much but all is well. I just can't wait to have Dave come home tomorrow night. Luckily Brady Quayle's fiance came in last night and will be here for a week!!

This summer I have done things I never thought I could do...
-Got scuba certified
-Stayed alone at night
-Dealt with 30 guys daily. Some of them act worse than girls!!
-Been such a couch potato

I am going to Disney World for my birthday so I will post some pics next week. I am SOOOO excited to get away and have a break from work and also spend some time with Dave. It has been awhile!

Our Apartment

Our living room

Our balcony
The Golf Course
Some of our view of the ocean; you can see a BIG ship.
Kitchen

Dining room

We live in a high rise apartment building. We live on the pent house floor which is the very top floor; floor 21. It is a very nice and big apartment. We have 2 bathrooms, 1 bedroom, big living and dinning rooms, the kitchen is a good size, a nice balcony. It also has A LOT of closet space. It will probably be bigger than our apartment in Logan!:) Our view is beautiful!!!! We can see the ocean. It is fun to see the boats throughout the day, we occasionally see cruise ships. We also have an amazing golf course right outside our apartment complex. We also have 2 swimming pools at our complex. I know, I have no excuse to not be tan when I come home but I am as white as when I left. Mindy and Mckell would love it here! These pics are of my apartment and view. I will have to put a pic up of our pool. It is beautiful!!
(Our apartment is very clean right now because Dave cleaned it the other night!! I have a rough day at work with dealings with all the many boys. I was talking on the phone to Mckell and came back in and he has cleaned the kitchen. He swept, mopped, did the dishes, wiped the counters, the whole works! I then had a meeting that night and he cleaned BOTH bathrooms!! He scrubbed the showers and everything. He is so amazing! He is so good to me, I am the luckiest girl. He is always helping out and being wonderful!:) I love him.)

Hollywood Boardwalk

A few weeks ago we went to the boardwalk one Sunday with our friends Danny and Candace. It was a really nice day to take a walk. We have some really good friends out here, it is fun to get together with them.

The Beach

So I can see the beach from my house but I have only been a few times. Our friend Ashley comes out to visit her boyfriend Neli and she gets us girls here social! Last time she came we went to South Beach. That beach is pretty interesting, you can go topless there..... It was sick! Today we went to Hollywood beach. It is really nice. They have a really pretty board walk with stores and restaurants along the beach. We had a really nice time relaxing. I still answered phones but it all worked out well! The picture is of my friends Ashley, Candace, and Leslie.

Scuba Diving

I am officially scuba certified!!

Dave loves to scuba dive so when some of the guys in his office won the incentive to get scuba certified we decided it would be a good opportunity for me to get scuba certified. At the time it seemed like a great idea but I am a scaredy cat. I had a hard time!

We had 2 days of class where we did book work. We dived in a pool, 2 times in a lake, and 2 times in the ocean. July 11th we did the pool dive and the lake dives. The water was VERY murky, you could not even see the person next to you. There was a rope you had to hold onto the whole time so you did not get lost, not the best idea of a first dive for me! You have to pass off certain things to get certified. You take out your regulator which is the mouth piece that you breath with and put it back in. Then you have to take your mask off and put it back on. I was already scared to be under the water so this was quiet terrifying. The regulator surprisingly was not to bad but the mask was horrible! I accidentally breathed in water through my nose, I went back to the surface and panicked! I did not think that I could do it. I didn't want to disappoint Dave and so I prayed a TON and went in the lake. I made the instructor hold my hand the whole time....he was very patient with me.

Today we did our dives in the ocean. I made Dave come with me. He held my hand the whole time. He was a good sport! I know he wanted to be more adventurous but he stayed with me the whole time, it meant so much to me! The first dive was a reef and the second one was 2 ship wrecks. The reef dive was the coolest. There were a lot of pretty fish! We even saw a nurse shark. This dive was 40 feet. Visibility was SOOO much better than the lake, I could actually see!! The wreck dive was 70 feet. It was cool to see all the stuff growing on the ships but I liked the reef better. Some of the guys saw an eel. I was very scared but it all worked out! I prayed a lot this time also.
We did not bring a camera...oops. We were hoping Nelli would bring one but he forgot. This picture is me heading to the pool and lake dives. Notice the pink tank! :)

One of the ladies I visit teach out here in Florida said that she was scared as well but then when she got under the water and saw all the beautiful fish and the amazing things Heavenly Father created she felt dumb for being so scared and started enjoying it more. I need to start to relax and not worry and enjoy the beauty of it more. It is amazing to see and think about all the time and thought Heavenly Father put into everything on earth as well as in the water.

4th of July

The fourth of July is my favorite holiday!! I was sad to not be with my family, it has been a few years since I have been in Utah for the 4th. My dad and uncles play in the Perry 4th of July softball tournament. They are actually pretty good. My uncle Alan usually does something really weird that ends up being the highlight of the tournament. One year he was running from 1st base to 2nd base, he slid into 2nd. The problem was he ended up in the middle of 1st and 2nd bases, not even close to where he needed to be! He said his little toe gave out on him.

The Perry festivities are great! The city puts on a very good breakfast, they have a race, even a parade! Our family has been in the parade a few times. It is a small parade but very fun. Our family then heads to the farm where we BBQ and watch the Brigham fireworks in front of my aunts houses. It is always just such a great day being with the family and visit with people in the community we do not see everyday! Our family used to camp out at the 4th that night but the last 2 years the family has gone to Jackson Hole river rafting the weekend before the 4th. I love that we are so close to our relatives!

This year for the 4th was fun being with Dave. We both worked until 5:00. APX then had dinner catered. Dave's friends bought fireworks but didn't really have anywhere to light them off. Since they are boys they decided that it would be sooo cool to light them off the balcony of our apartment complex. Luckily it was some of the other guys down the hall apartment. They would hold the fireworks and light them. They would throw the spinner fireworks down on the road, not to smart. They sure had fun though. Later that night the cops showed up at the apartment! We were worried about the fireworks, they were an hour late but they did come and it was really fun. We are on the top floor of our apartment complex and the fireworks were int he golf course right across the street so they were so close! Since we were so far up we were able to see fireworks from all over the area! It was very neat. It was nice to have Dave home before 10:00! I love Dave so much, he is so good to me. I am a very lucky girl!!:)

Chicago

Dave and I headed to Chicago this weekend! Dave's brother Danny just got home from his mission to Russia. It was good to meet him. He is definitely more mellow than Dave and Cory! We had a great time. We went mini golfing, I beat Dave!! We went to the movies, taste of Chicago, and hung out. It was a great weekend. Cory and Danny both spoke in sacrament and did great jobs! Everyone is so kind to me at their ward in Chicago. It is fun to go there. We had dinner after with his aunt and uncle from Chicago, his oma and opa, and his family. It was really fun! Dave has a great family!

Elevator experience

We drove STRAIGHT through to Miami Florida!!! We will be making stops on the way home! We live on the pent house floor. We have a view of the ocean from our balcony. There is a beautiful golf course by us as well. I will post some pictures when it is not all rainy outside.

One day the guys decided it would be cool to see how many people they could fit in the elevator......needless to say the elevator made it half way to the next floor and stopped. We were trapped in the elevator with 24 stinky people! I was very claustrophobic! It took 25 minutes or so before they were able to get the doors opened. Since the elevator was so heavy had a hard time getting the door open. He was asking us to help him, he didn't know we really could not move. When they opened the door the guy said there was a wave of heat! The max weight was 2500. I think that we were about 5000 lbs!! I guess it is an experience to laugh about after the fact, definitely not during! I am actually nervous riding the elevators now..

Special Education Party

We got back from Chicago and took finals! It was a crazy week. This is the gang I went to school with the past year (well the Severe group). I survived the Special Education program!!! It is a great program. A lot of work but well worth it. I really enjoyed it. I made great friends along the way and miss them SOO much. It is crazy from seeing them all the time to not seeing them. We will still have our lunch or dinner outings in the Fall.

Open House in Chicago

We got back from our honeymoon late Thursday night. Friday morning Dave had to take a quiz and then off to Chicago we went for our open house. It was very nice! I met a lot of great people there. There was lots of yummy food as well!
The picture above is Dave's parents, us, and Dave's Oma and Opa.

My dad and I!
Us with Dave's friends from high school
My parents, Dave, and I at the Lincoln Park zoo in Chicago. Dave and I love coming here to the zoo. They have the best monkeys. Most of our time was spent watching them!
My mom washing windows. Always working!

Honeymoon

We went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for our honeymoon. We had a great time! We stayed in an amazing resort! We hung out on the beach a lot and went into town one day and bought souvenirs. Of course Dave had to speak "his" Spanish to everyone. For those of you who do not know what Dave's Spanish is, it is random words that Dave can think of in Spanish. People try to correct him and help him, he thinks it is so funny. I of course get a little embarrassed!!

This picture is of us getting ready to go to the beach party put on by the resort we were staying at. It was a lot of fun. They had a buffet of all kinds of foods and yummy treats. We were able to watch the sunset while we ate and watched the performance! It was very romantic!

Wedding!

Hello! A lot of fun things have happened in the past few months. First of all, Dave and I got married April 11th, 2008!! It was crazy to get everything planned in 6 weeks but we did it!! It seemed so short but so long at the same time.
It was a wonderful day! Everything went very smooth and perfect. It was definitely a LONG day but it was great. Thanks to everyone who came and also those who helped!
